Dexalev Eye Drop is a combination ophthalmic solution containing dexamethasone 0.1% and levofloxacin 0.5%. It is used to prevent and manage inflammation and reduce the risk of bacterial infection following cataract surgery in adults.
Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation, redness, and swelling, while levofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that works against susceptible bacteria. Together, these ingredients help control post-operative inflammation and prevent bacterial infections when used as prescribed.
Dexalev combines the anti-inflammatory action of dexamethasone with the antibacterial activity of levofloxacin.

Inform your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you are currently using, including other eye drops and non-prescription products.
Important potential interactions include:
There is limited information about the safety of dexamethasone and levofloxacin ophthalmic preparations during pregnancy. Corticosteroids can cross the placenta, and prolonged or repeated systemic exposure may carry potential risks. Use during pregnancy should be considered only when the expected benefits outweigh the possible risks.
Both ingredients may enter breast milk following systemic exposure. Although systemic absorption from eye drops is generally limited, caution is recommended during breastfeeding. Consult your doctor before using Dexalev if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
Adults: Instill one drop into the affected eye every 6 hours for 7 days after surgery, or follow the exact dosage and duration prescribed by the ophthalmologist.
Children and Adolescents: Dexalev is not recommended for individuals under 18 years of age because its safety and effectiveness have not been sufficiently established in this age group.
Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from direct light. Keep out of the reach of children.
Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination. Close the bottle tightly after each application and discard it one month after opening, or according to the manufacturer's instructions.
