Oral (Children 2-10 yrs): Half of the adult dose.
Oral (Children <2 yrs): 1/4 of the adult dose.
IM/IV (Adults): 250 mg-1 g 4 times daily (up to 8 g/day for severe infections).
Children: Same proportionate dose as oral.

Oral doses should be taken 1 hour before meals.
Caution in hepatic dysfunction and severe renal impairment.
