✔️ Side Effects

Possible adverse reactions include:

• Common:
  • Paresthesia (tingling or numbness) (1.9%)
  • Burning and dry skin (1.6%)
• Less Common (<1%):
  • Rash
  • Edema (swelling)
  • Secondary infections
  • Stinging sensation

✔️ Dosage & Administration

• Apply a sufficient amount of the cream to the affected area and surrounding skin twice daily (morning and evening).
• Duration of treatment:
  • Tinea cruris & Tinea corporis: 2 weeks
  • Tinea pedis: 4 weeks
• Prolonged use beyond four weeks is not recommended.
• Safety and effectiveness have not been established for children under 12 years of age.

Use only as directed by a registered physician.

No known drug interactions have been reported.

✔️ This topical preparation should not be used in patients with:

• Hypersensitivity to clotrimazole, betamethasone, other corticosteroids, or imidazoles.
• Facial rosacea
• Acne vulgaris
• Perioral dermatitis
• Perianal and genital pruritus
• Napkin eruptions (diaper rash)
• Bacterial or viral infections

Prolonged use of topical corticosteroids can lead to HPA (Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal) axis suppression. If this occurs, the medication should be gradually withdrawn or the frequency of application should be reduced.

Children are more susceptible to systemic side effects due to their higher skin surface-to-body mass ratio.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

• There is limited safety data on the use of this cream during pregnancy.
• Animal studies show no teratogenic effects of clotrimazole, but high oral doses have been toxic to fetuses.
• Corticosteroids applied topically to pregnant animals have been linked to fetal abnormalities.
• Use in pregnancy should be considered only if the potential benefits outweigh the risks and should be limited in quantity and duration.
• Whether the ingredients pass into breast milk; caution is advised for nursing mothers.
