Square Zinc is prescribed for the treatment of zinc deficiency and conditions where zinc is lost excessively. Zinc deficiency may result from an insufficient diet or malabsorption. Excessive zinc loss can occur due to trauma, burns, diarrhea, or protein-losing conditions. Zinc supplementation is continued until clinical improvement is observed. In cases of severe malabsorption, metabolic disorders, or persistent zinc loss, long-term supplementation may be necessary.

Potential side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset, heartburn, and gastritis.

Dosage
- Children under 10 kg: 5 ml (1 teaspoon) twice daily after meals.
- Children 10–30 kg: 10 ml (2 teaspoons) 1–3 times daily after meals.
- Adults and children over 30 kg: 20 ml (4 teaspoons) 1–3 times daily after meals.
For best results, take this medication at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. However, if it causes stomach upset, it may be taken with food.

✔️ Drug Interactions
- Simultaneous use of zinc and tetracyclines may reduce the absorption of both.
- Co-administration of zinc with quinolone antibiotics may similarly lower absorption for both.
- Zinc intake alongside penicillamine may reduce zinc absorption.

This medication is contraindicated for individuals with hypersensitivity to any of its components.
✔️ Use During Pregnancy & Lactation
The safety of this product during pregnancy has not been fully established. Zinc crosses the placenta and is also present in breast milk.
✔️ Precautions & Warnings
In cases of acute renal failure, zinc may accumulate in the body, necessitating dose adjustment.

Store in a dry place, protected from light and heat. Keep out of reach of children.
