Astaxanthin is an antioxidant. It is a reddish pigment produced by the alga Haematococcus Pluvialis. Its antioxidant property helps to protect the cells from free radicals (toxins) that are produced in the body due to pollution, UV rays, smoking, etc. It also rejuvenates the skin cells to prevent early aging.

• Astaxanthin acts as a strong antioxidant with a dual mode of action.
• Suppresses singlet oxygen and inhibits lipid peroxidation, reducing harmful free radicals.
• Absorbed by passive diffusion into the intestinal epithelium alongside fatty acids.
• Incorporated into lipoproteins, transported to the liver via lymph and blood, and partly resecreted with lipoproteins.
• More than 70% of Astaxanthin is contained in the high-density lipoprotein part of plasma.
• The highest concentration is in the small intestine, followed by subcutaneous fat, abdominal fat, spleen, liver, heart, kidney, and skin; lowest in muscles.

• Should be taken along with or immediately before meals in the morning.
