Ramosetron Hydrochloride is a selective serotonin (5-HT3) receptor antagonist. Serotonin plays a key role in regulating gastrointestinal motility, secretion, and sensation. Ramogut is prescribed for the management of diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D).
- Adult males: 5 mcg once daily; may be adjusted based on response (maximum 10 mcg/day)
- Adult females: 2.5 mcg once daily; may be increased if needed (maximum 5 mcg/day)
- Taken orally, with or without food, as directed by a physician
