Indications of Clarizol 20 Solution

Clotrimazole Ear Drop is used to treat ear infections that are caused by fungus.

Pharmacology of Clarizol 20 Solution

Clotrimazole works by interfering with the cell membranes of fungi and yeasts, killing them. It acts by inhibiting the formation of ergosterol, an important component of fungal cell membranes, resulting in increased membrane permeability and leakage of critical fungal elements.

Dosage & Administration of Clarizol 20 Solution

Instill 2-3 drops of Clotrimazole Ear Drops in the affected ear two or three times daily. The treatment should be continued for at least two weeks after the disappearance of all signs of infection to prevent re-infection.

Interaction of Clarizol 20 Solution

There have been reports of a heat reaction when this drug is used at the same time as Sofradex ear drops.

Contraindications

Individuals who are hypersensitive to one or more of the ingredients.

Side Effects of Clarizol 20 Solution

Clotrimazole is generally well tolerated after local application but the few side effects have been reported infrequently like erythema, stinging, edema, pruritus and general irritation.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Clotrimazole should only be used during pregnancy after speaking with a doctor. Because clotrimazole's systemic absorption after topical administration is minimal, there should be no harm to the infant during nursing.

Precautions & Warnings

Consider stopping the drug and starting suitable therapy if local intolerance develops. Clotrimazole ear drops are not meant to be used in the eyes.

Storage Conditions

Keep away from direct sunlight and store in a cool, dry location. Keep out of children's reach. Protect yourself from the cold. After opening, do not use for more than 4 weeks.
