Bactoderm 2% Ointment 15g Tube

✔️ Some reported side effects may include:

• Burning, stinging, or pain at the application site
• Dry skin
• Tenderness
• Swelling
• Contact dermatitis (skin rash)
• Increased discharge from the affected area
• Increased hair growth
• Cough

✔️ Dosage & Administration:

Apply a small amount of Bactoderm ointment to the affected area three times daily for up to 10 days.

Pediatric Use:
Bactoderm ointment is safe and effective for children aged 2 months to 16 years, supported by clinical studies in pediatric patients with impetigo.

✔️ Drug Interactions:

No drug interactions have been identified with Bactoderm ointment.

✔️ Contraindications:

Bactoderm should not be used by individuals who have a known hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to Mupirocin or any components of the ointment.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation:

• Pregnancy: Animal studies have shown no harm to the fetus from Mupirocin ointment. However, there is limited clinical experience during pregnancy. The drug should only be used if the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
• Breastfeeding: It is unknown if Mupirocin is excreted in human breast milk. Caution is advised when using Bactoderm during lactation, considering the benefits of breastfeeding against the need for treatment.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings:

• Do not use Bactoderm in the eyes or inside the nose.
• Prolonged use of antibacterial products may lead to overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms, including fungi.
• Avoid contact with eyes when applying Bactoderm on the face.
• Not suitable for use with cannulae or at central venous catheter sites.
• If you experience severe irritation or allergic reactions, stop using the ointment and seek alternative treatment.
• Do not dilute Bactoderm by mixing it with other substances, as this can reduce its antibacterial effect and stability.

✔️ Storage Conditions:

• Store at a temperature below 25°C.
• Protect from light and moisture.
• Do not freeze.
