✔️ Side Effects of Vonozan 20

• Nausea
• Diarrhea
• Indigestion
• Bloating
• Hypertension (in rare cases)
• Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

✔️ Words of Advice:

• Before taking Vonozan 20, tell your doctor if you are allergic to it.
• Inform your doctor if you have liver/kidney problems.
• Inform your doctor if you have low magnesium, calcium, or potassium in your blood or if you are taking a medicine to increase urine (diuretic).

✔️ Use in Pregnancy & Lactation

• Pregnancy: Should be used only if the expected benefit justifies the potential risk.
• Breastfeeding: Use is not recommended during lactation. If treatment is essential, breastfeeding should be discontinued.

✔️ Vonoprazan should not be used in the following cases:

Known hypersensitivity to vonoprazan or any of its components.

Patients currently receiving atazanavir sulfate, nelfinavir, or rilpivirine hydrochloride due to potential drug interactions.

✔️ Special Populations

Elderly: Use with caution due to possible reduction in liver and kidney function.

Pediatric Patients (<18 years): Not recommended as safety and efficacy are not established.

Renal Impairment:

Mild to moderate (eGFR 30–89 mL/min): No dose adjustment needed

Severe (eGFR <30 mL/min): Avoid use

Hepatic Impairment:

Mild (Child-Pugh A): No adjustment required

Moderate to severe (Child-Pugh B or C): Avoid use

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Treatment duration should be minimized, tailored to the condition, and closely monitored, especially during long-term therapy.
• Routine endoscopic surveillance is advisable for chronic use.
• Maintenance therapy in reflux esophagitis should be limited to patients with recurrent symptoms; unnecessary continuation should be avoided.
• Consider dose reduction (20 mg to 10 mg) or treatment suspension once healing is stable and recurrence risk is low.
