Pharmacology of Cardifort Plus 25 Tablet
This is an Amlodipine and Atenolol fixed-dose combo. Inhibits calcium influx into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle; has a stronger effect on vascular smooth muscle than on cardiac muscle; is a dihydropyridine calcium antagonist Amlodipine is a peripheral vasodilator that reduces peripheral vascular resistance and blood pressure by acting directly on vascular smooth muscle. Afterload is reduced by amlodipine, which lowers cardiac demand by lowering the tone, coronary vasoreactivity, and coronary vasoreactivity.
Cardioselective beta-blocker Atenolol is a beta-blocker. There is a dose-dependent cardio-selectivity. It lowers blood pressure via reducing cardiac output, plasma renin activity, and sympathetic outflow from the central nervous system (CNS). The negative inotropic and chronotropic effects of atenolol also cause a reduction in myocardial oxygen demand.
Cardifort Plus 25 Tablet Dosage & Administration
Adult: This therapy is initiated with a single dose of this preparation depending upon the therapeutic response, titration of the dosage is recommended.
In elderly patients: It is advisable to initiate the therapy with ½ tablet of a fixed-dose combination of Amlodipine & Atenolol, i.e., 2.5 mg of Amlodipine & 25 mg Atenolol.
Interaction of Cardifort Plus 25 Tablet
This medication decreases the clearance of this drug by 20% There is a possibility that the heart will be subjected to detrimental inotropic effects that are cumulative.
In doses of 1 gram and above, ampicillin may lower Atenolol concentrations.
There may be a link between beta-blockers and oral antidiabetics. In contrast, atenolol has less potential for these effects.
Contraindications of Cardifort Plus 25 Tablet
Cardiogenic shock, hypotension, congestive heart failure, and poor left ventricular function are all symptoms of hypersensitivity to either component.

Pregnancy & Lactation
To be utilized during pregnancy, the predicted benefit must outweigh the possible risks to a developing fetus. If you're a nursing mother, you shouldn't use this combo. Breast-feeding should be interrupted if it is deemed essential.
Precautions & Warnings
With regard to patients with airway blockage, this combination should be utilized with caution.
Patients with renal impairment can benefit from the combo. As a result of a probable reduction in the excretion of unaltered Atenolol, care is advised if your creatinine clearance is less than 30 ml/min.
Due to the fact that Amlodipine's elimination half-life is prolonged in individuals with severe liver damage, caution should be used when using the combination.
When it comes to drug withdrawal, patients should be reminded that coronary heart disease can develop without being identified.
Storage Conditions
Keep below 30°C temperature, away from light & moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
