✅ Description:
Rosuvastatin + Ezetimibe is a combination medicine used alongside diet and lifestyle changes to help lower cholesterol levels in adults. It is indicated for primary non-familial hyperlipidemia to reduce LDL (“bad”) cholesterol and may also be used alone or with other lipid-lowering therapies in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH).
- Hepatic impairment: Contraindicated in acute liver failure or decompensated cirrhosis.
- Renal impairment: Dose adjustment is required only in severe renal impairment.

✔️ Dosage & Administration
- Usual dosage range: 5 mg/10 mg to 40 mg/10 mg once daily.
- The dose depends on LDL cholesterol levels, treatment goals, and cardiovascular risk.
- Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush, chew, or dissolve it.
- Take at least 2 hours before or 4 hours after bile acid sequestrants.
- Take at least 2 hours before aluminum/magnesium-containing antacids.
- In severe renal impairment (not on dialysis), start with 5 mg/10 mg once daily and do not exceed 10 mg/10 mg daily.
- No dosage adjustment is generally required in elderly patients.

- Decompensated cirrhosis
- Hypersensitivity to rosuvastatin, ezetimibe, or any component of the formulation
✔️ Safety Information:
- Contraindicated during pregnancy and in women planning pregnancy.
- Breastfeeding is not recommended while taking this medication.
- May increase the risk of myopathy and rhabdomyolysis, especially in older adults, patients with kidney disease, uncontrolled hypothyroidism, or those taking interacting medicines.
- Liver enzyme elevations may occur; liver function should be monitored when clinically indicated.
- Discontinue treatment if significant muscle symptoms or severe liver injury develops.
