Presulock 20 contains olmesartan, which selectively blocks angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptors. This prevents blood vessels from narrowing and reduces the effects of aldosterone, helping relax blood vessels and lower blood pressure.
The dosage depends on the patient's age, blood pressure, kidney function, and response to treatment.
Take Presulock 20 exactly as prescribed. Swallow the tablet whole with water. It may be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time every day. Do not stop treatment without consulting your doctor.
Take the missed dose when you remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular schedule. Do not take two doses together.
Possible side effects include:
Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, liver disease, dehydration, or a history of electrolyte imbalance.
Your doctor may monitor blood pressure, kidney function, serum creatinine, and potassium levels during treatment.
Avoid potassium supplements and potassium-containing salt substitutes unless recommended by your physician.
Consult your doctor before using NSAIDs such as ibuprofen or diclofenac, as these medicines may affect kidney function and blood pressure.
Do not combine Presulock with other medicines that affect the renin–angiotensin system unless specifically directed by your doctor.
Presulock 20 should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to olmesartan or any component of the product. It should not be used during pregnancy, particularly during the second and third trimesters, because it can cause serious fetal harm. It is also contraindicated in certain patients with biliary obstruction.
Do not use Presulock 20 during pregnancy. If pregnancy occurs during treatment, contact your doctor immediately to discuss an alternative medicine. Breastfeeding use is generally not recommended without medical advice because safety information is limited.
Store in a dry place, away from light and heat. Keep out of the reach of children.
