✔️ How Femastin Works

Femastin contains estriol, a short-acting form of estrogen. It helps restore the normal structure of the vaginal lining and supports a healthy vaginal environment by promoting normal microflora and physiological vaginal pH. This can improve the resistance of vaginal tissues to irritation, infection, and inflammation.

Estriol is absorbed rapidly after oral administration and is extensively metabolized in the body, primarily through conjugation. Most of the metabolized drug is eliminated through the urine.

✔️ How to Take Femastin

The total daily dose is generally taken once daily, as directed by a doctor. It can be taken with or without food.

The appropriate dose varies according to the condition being treated. Treatment may begin with a higher dose and gradually decrease to the lowest effective maintenance dose. For infertility related to cervical mucus problems, the dosage and timing may be adjusted according to the individual response.

✔️ Drug Interactions

Femastin may interact with certain medicines. Estrogens can potentially enhance the effects of some corticosteroids, which may require dosage adjustment. Medicines such as activated charcoal, barbiturates, hydantoins, and rifampicin may reduce the effectiveness of estriol by affecting its absorption or metabolism.

Always inform your doctor about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter products, and supplements you are taking.

An acute overdose may cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and withdrawal bleeding. There is no specific antidote; medical treatment is generally supportive. Seek medical attention if an overdose is suspected.

✔️ Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Estriol should not be used during pregnancy. During breastfeeding, it should only be used when specifically considered necessary by a healthcare professional, as estriol can pass into breast milk and may affect milk production.

Long-term estrogen therapy should be used under regular medical supervision. Tell your doctor if you have a history of:

• Heart failure or fluid retention
• High blood pressure
• Kidney or severe liver disease
• Epilepsy or migraine
• Endometriosis
• Fibrocystic breast disease
• Porphyria
• High blood lipid levels
• Gallbladder disorders
• Conditions associated with increased blood clotting risk

✔️ Femastin should not be used in patients with:

• Pregnancy
• Known or suspected estrogen-dependent tumors
• Known or suspected breast cancer
• Unexplained vaginal bleeding
• Untreated endometrial hyperplasia
• Hypersensitivity to estriol or any component of the medicine

✔️ Storage:

Store Femastin below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep the medicine out of reach of children.
