✔️ Side Effects

• Signs of a severe allergic reaction, such as skin rash, itching, hives, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
• Severe dizziness or trouble breathing
• Muscle weakness, extreme tiredness, or slow reflexes
• Confusion, mood changes, or unusual restlessness
• Severe, persistent stomach pain or worsening constipation

✔️ Interaction

Drug-Drug Interactions

• Antibiotics (like Tetracyclines and Fluoroquinolones): Magaldrate + simethicone can significantly reduce the absorption and effectiveness of these antibiotics. Take them at least 2 hours before or 4 to 6 hours after this medicine.
• Iron supplements: This medicine can decrease the amount of iron your body absorbs. Separate the doses by at least 2 hours.
• Thyroid medications (like Levothyroxine): Taking these together can lower thyroid hormone absorption. Separate these medicines by at least 4 hours.
• Heart medications (like Digoxin): Magaldrate+simethicone may lower the absorption of digoxin, reducing its effectiveness.

Drug-Food Interactions

• Citrus fruits and juices: Consuming foods high in citric acid alongside this medicine can increase the absorption of certain minerals, potentially leading to elevated levels in patients with kidney issues.

Drug-Disease Interactions

• Kidney Disease: Individuals with kidney impairment may experience a dangerous buildup of minerals in the blood, leading to toxicity.
• Low Blood Phosphate Levels (Hypophosphatemia): Long-term or high-dose use of this medicine can bind to phosphate in the gut, further lowering blood phosphate levels.
• Appendicitis or Undiagnosed Stomach Pain: Taking antacids when experiencing symptoms of appendicitis (like severe lower-right abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting) can mask serious issues or worsen the condition.

✔️ Warnings:

• Always inspect the bottle before taking your dose. If the liquid looks clumped, has changed colour, or does not mix well after shaking, do not use it.
• This medicine can stop other suggested drugs from working properly. Always wait at least 2 hours before or after taking Magaldrate+simethicone to take your other medications.
• Do not use this medicine for more than two weeks continuously unless your doctor has specifically told you to do so.
• If you have mild kidney issues, your doctor may need to monitor your mineral levels regularly while you take this medicine.
• If you are on a strict low-sodium diet, consult your pharmacist or doctor, as some formulations of this medicine may contain sodium.
