Xcel contains Paracetamol (Acetaminophen), a widely used analgesic and antipyretic. Its actions include:
Paracetamol inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes in the CNS (including COX-1, COX-2, and the COX-3 variant), reducing prostaglandin synthesis and thus controlling pain and fever.
Unlike NSAIDs, it does not significantly inhibit COX in peripheral tissues, giving it minimal anti-inflammatory effects.
It is less effective in tissues with high peroxide levels, which explains its central activity and limited effect on platelets or immune cells.

Xcel – Paracetamol | Therapeutic Class: Non-Opioid Analgesic
Xcel is used to relieve pain and reduce fever in both children and adults. It is effective for a wide range of conditions, including:
⚠️ Always use Xcel under the guidance of a registered physician.
Adults: 1–2 tablets every 4–6 hours, up to a maximum of 4 g (8 tablets) per day.
Children (6–12 years): ½ to 1 tablet, 3–4 times daily. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 2.6 g for long-term use.
Pediatric Use: Safe in children ≥2 years for IV or oral use
Geriatric Use: No significant difference in safety or efficacy compared to younger adults
Hepatic Impairment: Avoid in severe liver disease; dose reduction may be required
Renal Impairment: Extended dosing intervals and reduced total dose may be needed for creatinine clearance <30 ml/min
Usually mild: nausea, vomiting, or skin reactions
Rare: hematological effects (thrombocytopenia, leucopenia, pancytopenia, neutropenia, agranulocytosis), pancreatitis, or severe allergic reactions
Alcohol and chronic use of barbiturates or tricyclic antidepressants may reduce Paracetamol metabolism and increase liver toxicity.
Drugs that induce liver enzymes (e.g., anticonvulsants, oral steroids) may reduce effectiveness.
Hypersensitivity to Paracetamol or any components of Xcel.
Paracetamol is generally considered safe during pregnancy at recommended doses.
It is excreted in breast milk in minimal amounts and is considered clinically safe. Always consult a physician.
Store in a dry, cool place, away from heat and light
Keep out of reach of children
