Adults
Constipation:
- 5–10 mg orally as a single dose, usually taken at bedtime.
Bowel Preparation Before Diagnostic Procedures:
- 10 mg orally along with magnesium citrate, administered in the morning and again in the afternoon on the day before the procedure.

Children
Constipation:
- 1 month to <4 years: 0.25 mg/kg (maximum 5 mg)

Bowel Preparation Before Diagnostic Procedures:
- Same dosing as above, generally given at night.
✔️ Laxofit should not be used in patients with:
- Acute inflammatory bowel diseases
- Severe dehydration
- Intestinal obstruction or ileus
- Severe abdominal conditions associated with pain and/or fever (such as appendicitis)
- Conditions accompanied by nausea and vomiting
✔️ Interaction
- Diuretics and corticosteroids may increase the risk of electrolyte imbalance.
- Electrolyte disturbances may enhance sensitivity to cardiac glycosides.
- Antibiotics may reduce the laxative effect of Sodium Picosulfate.
✔️ Use cautiously in:
- Children
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women
- Patients with persistent changes in bowel habits lasting more than two weeks
- Individuals with bowel obstruction or unexplained abdominal pain
