✔️ Dosage and Administration | Flecard 50

Supraventricular Arrhythmias

• Recommended dose: 50 mg twice daily
• Maximum daily dose: up to 300 mg, as prescribed by the physician

Ventricular Arrhythmias

• Recommended dose: 100 mg twice daily
• Maximum daily dose: up to 400 mg, as prescribed by the physician

Elderly patients and those with kidney or heart impairment may require lower doses

Regular medical monitoring may be required to ensure correct dosing and therapeutic response

Use in Children

• Flecainide tablets are not recommended for children under 12 years. In infants and children, dairy products such as milk, infant formula, or yogurt may reduce the absorption of flecainide.

✔️ Seek immediate medical attention if you experience:

Common (up to 1 in 10 patients):

• Changes in heart rhythm (faster, slower, or pounding heartbeat)
• Chest pain
• Shortness of breath or breathing difficulties
• Fever, flushing, or excessive sweating
• Fainting or dizziness

Rare (up to 1 in 1,000 patients):

• Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
• Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
• Seizures (fits)

Frequency unknown:

• Heart attack
• Cardiac failure or cardiac arrest

✔️ Inform your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including:

• Other anti-arrhythmics or heart medications (e.g., cardiac glycosides, beta-blockers, verapamil, propranolol, amiodarone)
• Antihypertensive drugs
• Antidepressants (e.g., tricyclic antidepressants, fluoxetine, paroxetine, reboxetine)
• Anticonvulsants (e.g., phenytoin, phenobarbital, carbamazepine)
• Antipsychotics (e.g., clozapine)
• Antihistamines (e.g., mizolastine, terfenadine)
• Quinine
• HIV medicines (e.g., ritonavir, lopinavir, indinavir)
• Diuretics
• Cimetidine
• Bupropion
• These medicines may affect the action or safety of flecainide.

✔️ Do not take Flecainide Acetate tablets if you:

• Are allergic to flecainide or any of its components
• Have heart failure or cardiogenic shock
• Have heart block or sinus node dysfunction
• Have long-standing atrial fibrillation
• Have structural heart disease or conduction abnormalities
• Have had a myocardial infarction
• Have Brugada syndrome
• Are you pregnant or breastfeeding

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, planning to become pregnant, or suspect you may be pregnant, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

✔️ Before starting treatment, your doctor may check:

• Body fluid balance
• Liver and kidney function
• Consult your doctor before use if you:
• Have high blood pressure
• Experience angina or chest pain
• Have heart disease
• Have kidney or liver impairment
• Use a pacemaker
