Indications of Flexibac 25
Baclofen is used to treat skeletal muscle spasms caused by rheumatic disorders, spinal cord injuries, and other spinal diseases, as well as spasticity caused by multiple sclerosis, flexor spasms and pain, clonus, and muscular rigidity.
Cerebrovascular accidents, tumors, and degenerative brain disease are all possible causes.
Pharmacology of Flexibac 25
By stimulating GABAB receptors, which block glutamate and aspartate release, baclofen inhibits monosynaptic and polysynaptic reflexes in the spinal cord. Acting at intraspinal sites, it may also cause CNS depression. Baclofen also has an antinociceptive effect.
Administration & Dosage
5 mg three times a day, preferably with or after food, gradually increased to a maximum of 100 mg per day.
Interaction of Flexibac 25
Baclofen may cause increased sedation when combined with central nervous system depressants, alcohol, or synthetic opiates. Respiratory depression is also a possibility.
Because combining Baclofen with antihypertensives is likely to result in a greater drop in blood pressure, the antihypertensive medication dosage should be adjusted accordingly.
Contraindications
Baclofen is not recommended for patients who are hypersensitive to any of the product's ingredients.
