Pharmacology

Woodfordia fruticosa: Woodfordia fruticosa belongs to the Lythraceae family. It has a high tannin content. It has astringent, stimulating, uterine calming, repellent and powerful antibacterial effects. Minimize the vaginal pH to prevent recurrence. A study showed that Woodfordia fruticosa extract contains certain ingredients, such as tannins with important antibacterial properties, which can overcome barriers in the cell walls of Gram-negative bacteria. The inhibitory effect is comparable to the standard antibiotics amoxicillin and ciprofloxacin. In addition, Woodfordia fruticosa flowers provide non-specific immunity. It stimulates the reticuloendothelial system and macrophages to release cytokines. The proliferation of cells in the bone marrow suggests that colony stimulating factors may be released, which further stimulate the immune system by producing immune cells.

Dosage & Administration

Adult: 3 teaspoonfuls (15 ml) 3 times daily after meal for 15 days or as directed by the physician.
