Ucol contains tolterodine, an antimuscarinic medicine that helps relax the bladder muscles by blocking muscarinic receptors. This reduces bladder overactivity and helps control urinary urgency, frequency, and leakage. The therapeutic effect may become noticeable within four weeks.

Ucol is used to treat overactive bladder symptoms, including a sudden urge to urinate, frequent urination, and urge urinary incontinence (involuntary urine leakage).
- Extended-release capsules: The usual recommended dose is 4 mg once daily. Depending on response and tolerability, the dose may be reduced to 2 mg once daily.
- Film-coated tablets: The usual dose is 2 mg twice daily. The dose may be reduced to 1 mg twice daily if side effects occur.
- Patients with liver or kidney impairment: A lower dose may be required, depending on the severity of the condition.
- Children: Safety and effectiveness have not been established.
Take Ucol exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The treatment response should be reviewed periodically.
Common side effects include dry mouth, headache, constipation, abdominal pain, blurred vision, and dry eyes. Some patients may experience difficulty passing urine or urinary retention.
Use Ucol cautiously if you have difficulty emptying your bladder, gastrointestinal obstruction, narrow-angle glaucoma, or significant liver or kidney problems. It may cause blurred vision, dizziness, or drowsiness, so take care when driving or operating machinery. Patients with a history of QT prolongation or those taking certain heart-rhythm medicines should consult their doctor before use.
Ucol should not be used by patients with urinary retention, gastric retention, uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma, or a known allergy to tolterodine.
Medicines such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, miconazole, erythromycin, clarithromycin, cyclosporine, and vinblastine may increase tolterodine levels in the blood. Dose adjustment may be necessary. Inform your doctor about all medicines you take.
There is limited information about tolterodine use during pregnancy. It should be used only when the potential benefit outweighs the possible risk. Its presence in breast milk is unknown, so breastfeeding mothers should consult their doctor before taking it.
Store in a cool, dry place away from light. Keep out of reach of children.
