Adults and children over 6 years:
- 600 mg once daily, preferably in the evening.
- Acute conditions: Continue for 5–10 days.
- Chronic conditions: Treatment may continue for several months as advised by a physician.
Dissolve the tablet in a glass containing a small amount of water, stir if necessary, and drink immediately.
✔️ Acetylcysteine may interact with several medicines, including:
- Ampicillin
- Tetracyclines
- Macrolide antibiotics
- Cephalosporins
- Aminoglycosides
- Amphotericin B
- Nitroglycerin (may enhance its blood vessel–widening effect)
- Amoxicillin (may increase antibiotic concentration in tissues)
To reduce potential interactions, take acetylcysteine and most antibiotics at least 2 hours apart, unless otherwise directed by your physician.
