It is used as a short-term treatment for tooth abscesses.
It's also used in conjunction with Clarithromycin and Lansoprazole (called triple therapy) to treat H. pylori infection and duodenal ulcer illness, as well as to minimize the chance of recurrence of the ulcer.
Pharmacology of Amoxizen DS Capsule
Amoxizen DS Capsule is penicillin with a broad spectrum of activity. It works against a variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It works by preventing the production of cell walls. In the presence of stomach acid, amoxicillin is stable and is readily absorbed after oral administration. Amoxicillin reaches its maximal plasma concentration approximately 1 to 2 hours after oral dosage. Amoxicillin is extensively disseminated in bodily tissues and fluids at different concentrations.
Amoxizen DS Capsule Dosage
Adult: 250 mg three times daily, increasing up to 500 mg three times daily for severe infections.

Interaction of Amoxizen DS Capsule
When you take Amoxicillin and Probenecid together, your blood levels of Amoxicillin may rise and stay high for a long time. Amoxicillin may alter gut flora, resulting in decreased estrogen reabsorption and decreased effectiveness of combination estrogen/progesterone contraceptives.
Contraindications of Amoxizen DS Capsule
Amoxizen DS Capsule is not recommended for people who are allergic to penicillin.
Amoxizen DS Capsule Side Effects
The side effects are minor and only last a short time. Diarrhea, indigestion, and rash are all possible symptoms. Only a few cases of pseudo-membranous colitis have been recorded.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Amoxicillin is classified as a pregnancy category B by the US Food and Drug Administration. However, no appropriate and well-controlled trials in pregnant women have been conducted. Because animal reproduction studies do not always anticipate a human response, this medication should only be taken during pregnancy if absolutely necessary. Human milk has been found to contain amoxicillin. When administering Amoxicillin to a breastfeeding mother, care should be used.
Precautions & Warnings
During treatment, keep in mind the risk of superinfection with mycotic or bacterial diseases. If superinfections develop, Amoxicillin should be stopped and proper treatment started.
Storage Conditions
Keep away from light and heat in a dry area. Keep out of children's reach.
