Venesa 2 Tablet

✔️ Dosage & Administration of venesa

Treatment can begin on any day of the menstrual cycle.

• The recommended dose is 2 mg once daily.
• Tablets should be taken continuously without interruption, preferably at the same time each day.
• They may be taken with a small amount of liquid if needed.
• Treatment should continue regardless of menstrual bleeding.
• When one pack is finished, the next pack should be started immediately.

Missed Dose:
If a dose is missed, take one 2 mg tablet as soon as remembered and continue the regular dosing schedule the following day. If vomiting or diarrhea prevents absorption, an additional 2 mg tablet should be taken.

Children and Adolescents

• Not recommended before the onset of menstruation (menarche).
• Safety and effectiveness in adolescents under 18 years have not been fully established.

Elderly Patients

• There is no approved indication for use in the geriatric population.

✔️ Venesa should not be used in patients with:

• Allergy to dienogest or any component of the product
• Active venous thromboembolic disease
• Serious arterial or cardiovascular disorders such as heart attack, stroke, or ischemic heart disease
• Diabetes with vascular complications
• Severe liver disease or abnormal liver function
• Current or previous liver tumors
• Known or suspected hormone-dependent cancers
• Unexplained vaginal bleeding

✔️ Interaction

Dienogest is primarily metabolized by the CYP3A4 enzyme system. Medications that affect this pathway may alter Dienogest levels in the body.

Drugs that may increase Dienogest concentrations include:

• Azole antifungals (ketoconazole, itraconazole, fluconazole)
• Cimetidine
• Verapamil
• Macrolide antibiotics (erythromycin, clarithromycin, roxithromycin)
• Diltiazem
• Protease inhibitors (ritonavir, saquinavir, indinavir, nelfinavir)
• Certain antidepressants (nefazodone, fluvoxamine, fluoxetine)

These interactions may increase the likelihood of side effects.

• Nausea
• Abdominal pain
• Bloating or gas
• Palpitations
• Circulatory disturbances
• Low blood pressure
• Weight gain

Pregnancy Exclusion
Pregnancy should be ruled out before starting therapy.

Contraception
Venesa is not intended as a contraceptive. Women who require contraception should use non-hormonal methods such as condoms or other barrier methods.

Changes in Menstrual Bleeding
Irregular bleeding patterns, spotting, or changes in menstrual flow are common during treatment.

Liver Disease
Patients with current or previous severe liver disease should not use Venesa.

Fertility
Ovulation is suppressed in many women during treatment; however, this effect is not reliable enough to provide contraception.
