Pan 40 tablet is used to treat stomach ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease, heartburn, and oesophagus inflammation-related conditions. It works by reducing stomach acid production by blocking or inhibiting a pump called the proton pump, which is responsible for stomach acid secretion. This helps relieve acidity, promote the healing of ulcers, and reduce acid reflux. For best results, take Pan 40 tablet on an empty stomach.

✔️ Oral Use of Pan 40 | Pantoprazole

Benign Gastric Ulcer:
Pantoprazole 40 mg once daily in the morning for 4 weeks. Treatment may be extended for an additional 4 weeks if complete healing has not occurred.

Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD):
20–40 mg once daily in the morning for 4 weeks. If symptoms persist or healing is incomplete, therapy may be continued for a further 4 weeks.
Maintenance dose: 20 mg once daily, which may be increased to 40 mg daily if required.

Duodenal Ulcer:
40 mg once daily in the morning for 2 weeks. If healing is incomplete, treatment may be extended for another 2 weeks.

Duodenal Ulcer Associated with Helicobacter pylori:
Pantoprazole 40 mg twice daily in combination with appropriate antimicrobial therapy for 7 days, such as:

Amoxicillin 1 g twice daily + Clarithromycin 500 mg twice daily, or

Clarithromycin 250 mg twice daily + Metronidazole 400 mg twice daily.

Prevention of NSAID-Associated Gastric or Duodenal Ulcers:
20 mg once daily in patients requiring long-term NSAID therapy.

Zollinger–Ellison Syndrome:
Initial dose of 80 mg once daily, adjusted according to clinical response.
In elderly patients, the maximum recommended dose is 40 mg daily.
Doses exceeding 80 mg per day should be administered in two divided doses.

  • Some medicines may affect how the Pan 40 tablet works, or the medicine itself may reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken simultaneously.
  • Inform the physician about the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are taking or might take to avoid possible interactions.
  • Pan 40 tablets alter the action of medicines whose bioavailability is dependent on stomach acid, like ketoconazole.
  • The medicine must not be co-administered with atazanavir, an anti-HIV medication,e and methotrexate, an immunomodulator.
  • Frequent monitoring of blood clotting parameters is required if you are taking blood thinners like warfarin. There is a risk of bleeding.
  • Levels of methotrexate (used to treat types of cancer) increase in the body upon concomitant use with Pan 40 tablet.
