Dsec (Dexlansoprazole 60 mg) –
- Healing of Erosive Esophagitis (EE): Helps heal all grades of EE for up to 8 weeks.
- Maintenance of Healed EE: Keeps the esophagus healed and relieves heartburn for up to 6 months.
- Symptomatic Non-Erosive GERD: Treats heartburn associated with non-erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease for 4 weeks.

Common: Diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and bloating (flatulence)
✔️ Dosage & Administration:
- Healing of EE: 60 mg once daily for up to 8 weeks.
- Maintenance of Healed EE & Heartburn Relief: 30 mg once daily (adults: up to 6 months; adolescents 12–17 years: up to 16 weeks).
- Non-Erosive GERD: 30 mg once daily for 4 weeks.
- Children under 12 years: Safety not established.
- Elderly: No dose adjustment needed.
- Renal impairment: No dose adjustment needed.
- Mild hepatic impairment: No dose adjustment; moderate hepatic impairment: max 30 mg/day recommended.
✔️ How to Take
- Swallow capsules whole, with or without food.
- Alternatively, open the capsule and sprinkle granules on a spoonful of soft food and swallow immediately—do not chew.
- If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible unless it is almost time for the next dose. Do not double the dose.

May interact with Atazanavir, Warfarin, Tacrolimus, Clopidogrel, and Methotrexate.

- Avoid use if allergic to Dexlansoprazole or any capsule components.
- Use caution in patients with gastric malignancy, risk of Clostridium difficile infection, low magnesium levels, osteoporosis, or bone fracture risk.
- Monitor patients taking Methotrexate concurrently.
