Indications of Neosten 10 Cream
All dermatomycoses are caused by dermatophytes (e.g.Trichophyton species).
All dermatomycoses are caused by yeasts (Candida species).
Dermatomycoses are caused by molds and other fungi.
These fungi superinfections are visible in skin disorders.
Some examples of skin infections include interdigital mycoses (athlete's foot), paronychias (related to nail mycoses), mycoses in skin folds, Candida vulvitis, Candida balanitis, Pityriasis Versicolor, and erythrasma.
Pharmacology of Neosten 10 Cream
Clotrimazole works by weakening the cell membrane's permeability barrier. Clotrimazole prevents the formation of ergosterol, an important component of fungal cell membranes. If ergosterol synthesis is completely or partially blocked, the cell can no longer generate an intact and functional cell membrane. Because ergosterol stimulates fungal cell proliferation in a hormone-like manner, the preceding events take place quickly, resulting in dose-dependent suppression of fungal growth.
Dosage & Administration of Neosten 10 Cream
Clotrimazole Cream should be applied thinly and rubbed into the infected areas 2-3 times per day. Because of its high efficacy, a small amount of cream is usually sufficient for an area the size of a palm. For the treatment to be a complete success, Clotrimazole Cream must be applied consistently and for an extended period of time. The duration of treatment varies depending on the extent and localization of the disease, among other factors.
Recommended duration of treatment-
To prevent relapse of fungal infection of the feet, treatment should be continued for about 2 weeks after all signs of disease have disappeared. The feet should be thoroughly dried after washing (particularly spaces between the toes). Clotrimazole Cream has no odor, is washable, and does not stain clothing.
Clotrimazole Topical Solution:
Apply this sparingly to the affected areas and rub in gently, two or three times daily.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Clotrimazole.
Side Effects of Neosten 10 Cream
When applied topically, Clotrimazole is well tolerated. With external application, systemic effects are not observed. Local irritation or burning sensation may occur in very few cases but these symptoms are not considered harmful.
Pregnancy & Lactation
It is recommended that Clotrimazole should be used in pregnancy only when considered necessary by the physician.
Storage Conditions
Protect from light and moisture by storing in a cool, dry place below 30°C. Keep out of children's reach.
