✔️ Dosage & Administration of Tamona 20

• Breast Cancer: 20 mg daily.
• Anovulatory Infertility:
  • 20 mg daily on days 2-5 of the menstrual cycle.
  • The dose may increase to 40 mg or 80 mg in subsequent cycles if needed.
  • For irregular cycles, start the first course on any day, with subsequent courses 45 days later or on day 2 if menstruation occurs.

Always follow a registered physician's advice for dosage.

✔️ Side Effects of Tamona 20

Common:

• Hot flushes
• Vaginal bleeding or discharge
• Pruritus vulvae
• Tumor flare
• Gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea)
• Fluid retention
• Headache

Less Common/Severe:

• Dermatological: Skin rashes (e.g., erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome).
• Blood: Leucopenia, thrombocytopenia, or neutropenia (occasionally severe).
• Visual: Corneal changes, retinopathy, cataracts.
• Reproductive: Uterine fibroids, endometrial hyperplasia, cystic ovarian swelling.
• Thromboembolic Events: Deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism.
• Liver: Elevated liver enzymes, fatty liver, cholestasis, hepatitis.
• Metabolism: Elevated triglyceride levels (rarely leading to pancreatitis).

✔️ Interactions

• Anticoagulants: Co-administration with coumarin-type anticoagulants may increase their effects. Close monitoring is recommended.
• With Cytotoxic Agents: Combined use may heighten the risk of thromboembolic events.

✔️ Contraindications

• Pregnancy: Tamona must not be used due to potential risks to the fetus, including birth defects and fetal death.
• Allergic Reactions: Avoid use in individuals with hypersensitivity to Tamoxifen or its components.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

• Pregnancy: Contraindicated. May cause harm to the fetus.
• Lactation: Not recommended, as it is unknown if Tamoxifen is excreted in human milk.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Common in premenopausal women undergoing breast cancer treatment.
• Increased risk due to the estrogen-like effect of Tamona. Any abnormal gynecological symptoms, especially vaginal bleeding, should be promptly investigated.
• Second Primary Tumors is Rare but reported. The clinical relevance is unclear.
• Women must use barrier or nonhormonal contraceptives during treatment and for two months after stopping the medication.
