✔️ Side Effects

Common adverse effects include:

• Hot flushes
• Vaginal bleeding or discharge
• Vulval itching
• Gastrointestinal discomfort
• Headache
• Dizziness
• Fluid retention
• Hair thinning or hair loss

Less common but potentially serious adverse reactions include:

• Skin reactions such as erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, and bullous pemphigoid
• Hypersensitivity reactions, including angioedema
• Elevated blood calcium levels in patients with bone metastases
• Reduced platelet count, leukopenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia, or severe neutropenia
• Visual disturbances, corneal changes, retinopathy, and cataracts
• Endometrial hyperplasia, uterine polyps, fibroids, and ovarian cysts
• Deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism
• Liver function abnormalities, fatty liver, cholestasis, hepatitis, and elevated triglycerides that may occasionally lead to pancreatitis

✔️ Tamodex should not be used in patients who:

• Are you pregnant or planning a pregnancy?
• Have a known allergy or hypersensitivity to Tamoxifen or any component of the formulation.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy
Tamodex is contraindicated during pregnancy. Although a definite causal relationship has not been established, cases of miscarriage, fetal abnormalities, and fetal death have been reported following Tamoxifen exposure during pregnancy.

Women of childbearing potential should:

• Exclude pregnancy before starting treatment.
• Use reliable non-hormonal contraception during treatment and for at least two months after stopping Tamodex.
• Consult their healthcare provider before planning pregnancy.

Lactation
It is not known whether Tamoxifen passes into human breast milk. Therefore, its use during breastfeeding is not recommended. The decision to discontinue breastfeeding or Tamodex should be based on the clinical importance of treatment for the mother.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Tamodex may suppress menstruation in some premenopausal women.
• Long-term therapy has been associated with an increased risk of endometrial cancer and other endometrial abnormalities.
• Any abnormal gynecological symptoms, particularly unexpected vaginal bleeding, should be evaluated promptly.
• Reports of second primary malignancies at sites other than the endometrium and opposite breast have been observed, although a direct causal relationship has not been confirmed.
• Regular clinical monitoring is recommended throughout treatment.

• Store at 20°C–25°C.
• Protect from direct light.
• Keep out of the reach of children.
