Maacal-D is used in the management of:
- Osteoporosis (bone loss)
- Osteomalacia and osteopenia (weak or softened bones)
- Rickets
- Hypoparathyroidism (reduced parathyroid gland activity)
- Latent tetany (neuromuscular disorder related to calcium deficiency)
It is also recommended to ensure adequate calcium and vitamin D intake in conditions such as:
- Pregnancy and lactation
- Post-menopausal osteoporosis
- Senile osteoporosis

500 mg & 200 IU strength:
Each film-coated tablet contains Calcium Carbonate BP (eggshell source) 1250 mg, equivalent to 500 mg elemental calcium, and Vitamin D3 BP 200 IU.
600 mg & 400 IU strength:
Each film-coated tablet contains Calcium Carbonate BP (eggshell source) 1500 mg, equivalent to 600 mg elemental calcium, and Vitamin D3 BP 400 IU.
Osteoporosis induced by long-term use of drugs such as phenytoin, phenobarbital, or corticosteroids (e.g., prednisolone)
Maacal-D contains calcium derived from European eggshell, a natural and eco-friendly source with superior bioavailability. Along with calcium, it provides trace amounts of essential minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus, and strontium, which contribute to bone formation and strength.

✔️ Drug Interactions
With medicines:
May interact with digoxin, antacids containing calcium/aluminum/magnesium, other calcium supplements, calcitriol, and tetracycline antibiotics (e.g., doxycycline, oxytetracycline). Medical consultation is advised before concurrent use.
With food:
Calcium absorption may be reduced when taken with certain foods such as spinach, milk, and dairy products.
