✅ Description:
- Norethisterone is a synthetic progestogen with strong ovulation-inhibiting activity.
- Has weak estrogenic and androgenic properties.
- Absorbed orally, the effect lasts ≥24 hours.
- Metabolized and excreted via urine.
Stop treatment immediately if:
- New/severe migraine or frequent headaches
- Vision/hearing disturbances
- Thrombophlebitis or chest pain suggestive of embolism
- Before major surgery (6 weeks prior) or during immobilization
- Jaundice, hepatitis, severe pruritus, or significant hypertension
- Pregnancy occurs

- Dysfunctional uterine bleeding: 1 tab TID × 10 days → withdrawal bleeding occurs 2–4 days post-treatment.

- PMS: 2–3 tabs daily from day 19–26 of cycle; repeat for several cycles.
- Postponement of menstruation: 1 tab TID, starting 3 days before expected period.
- Endometriosis: Start day 5 of cycle → 2 tabs daily; may increase to 4–5 tabs daily if spotting occurs. Continue 4–6 months.
