Togent (Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride 2% + Zinc Acetate 0.1%) cream is indicated for the relief of pruritus (itching), insect bites, rashes, allergic skin conditions, mild sunburn, minor skin irritations, cuts, or scrapes.
Togent 10 cream is used to alleviate discomfort and itching caused by bug bites, minor burns, sunburn, minor skin irritations, minor cuts, scrapes, and rashes resulting from exposure to poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac. It also helps in drying out seeping and weeping from poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac rashes.
Diphenhydramine, the active ingredient, belongs to a class of drugs known as antihistamines. It functions by blocking the effects of histamine, a natural substance responsible for itching. Zinc acetate can help alleviate symptoms like dry skin, weeping, or oozing
The product package may advise against using it in children younger than 2, 6, or 12 years old unless directed by a doctor.
Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride blocks a natural substance (histamine) during an allergic reaction. Besides this, the drying effects of Diphenhydramine on allergic symptoms (like watery eyes and runny nose) are caused by blocking another natural substance (acetylcholine). Together it helps relieve allergy symptoms like sneezing, running nose, watery eyes, itching, swelling, congestion, or stiffness.

Possible side effects may include skin rash, urticaria (hives), and photosensitivity (increased sensitivity to sunlight).

Administration: Before application, ensure the skin is clean, cool, and dry. Avoid hot showers or baths before applying. Apply the cream lightly until it disappears, covering all affected skin surfaces, including between fingers and toes, under nails, and on the soles of the feet.
Togent may interact with various medications and substances. It can mask ototoxicity produced by aminoglycosides and affect the absorption of levodopa. It can also antagonize the effects of cholinergic agents and interact with CNS depressants, MAOIs, atropine, TCAs, and other substances like valerian, St. John's wort, Kava Kava, and gotu kola.
Avoid using Togent in individuals with known allergies to its components, other pyrethroids, or pyrethrins.
While specific studies on pregnant women are lacking, consult medical advice before using during pregnancy. Topical use is not expected to have teratogenic effects. Caution is advised in nursing mothers, although levels of breast milk after topical treatment are expected to be very low.
For external use only. Keep away from fire or flame as it is flammable. Do not use on large areas of the body with other diphenhydramine-containing products. Avoid contact with eyes during use.
