Lysine hydrochloride is a water-soluble essential amino acid that actively promotes controlled cell regeneration, aiding wound healing. It also provides protection against common pathogens. Lysine is crucial for collagen formation, and vital for bone and connective tissue, including skin, tendons, and cartilage. Additionally, it plays a role in growth and the production of carnitine, a nutrient that converts fatty acids into energy and helps reduce cholesterol levels. It's indicated for preventing infection in cuts, abrasions, surgical incisions, burns, chronic wounds, and infected traumatic lesions. Lysine also inhibits the replication of arginine-rich herpes viruses
Upon application, some individuals may experience a slight irritating feeling.
Lysine is a building block for making proteins in the body. It might also prevent the herpes virus from growing.
Lysine hydrochloride, the active ingredient in this medication, is a water-soluble essential amino acid. It has been shown to enhance in-situ cellular proliferation in acute and chronic wound beds when blood plasma-derived growth factor is present. This essential amino acid promotes wound healing by actively and regulatedly encouraging in-situ cell regeneration. It also provides protection for wounds against common pathogens.
The gel or ointment can be used as often as needed, preferably at intervals of 24, 48, or 72 hours. To use, clean the affected areas with normal saline and/or surgically if necessary until the wound bed appears red with a few bleeding points. Apply the gel liberally and consider covering the areas with a moist dressing and/or bandage.
There is a moderate interaction with calcium supplements. Lysine can increase the body's absorption of calcium. Taking calcium and lysine together can lead to increased calcium levels in the body. Avoid consuming large amounts of calcium and lysine simultaneously.
Hypersensitivity to the amino acid is the only known contraindication.
If you experience any discomfort during application, please consult a physician.
