Indication

Pharmacology

Dosage & Administration of Thalidon 25mg Tablet

• Edema: Up to 50 mg daily.
• Hypertension: Usually 25 mg daily in the morning, which may be increased to 50 mg if necessary.
• Heart failure: Typically starts at 25-50 mg daily in the morning, which might be increased to 100-200 mg daily but should be reduced to the lowest effective dose for maintenance.

Interaction

Chlorthalidone may enhance the effects of other antihypertensive drugs and ganglionic peripheral adrenergic blocking drugs.

Contraindications

Not suitable for patients with anuria (absence of urination) and those with known hypersensitivity to Chlorthalidone or sulfonamide-derived drugs.
