✔️ Dosage and Administration of Omega-3 Acid Ethyl Esters

• For hypertriglyceridemia: 4 capsules (4 g) as a single dose, or 2 capsules (2 g) twice daily.
• Post-myocardial infarction: 1 capsule (1 g) daily with food. Patients should adhere to a lipid-lowering diet before and during treatment.
• For joint inflammation (mild arthritis): 2.7 g daily.
• For mood disorders, impulse control, or macular degeneration: 1 capsule (1 g) per day.

✔️ Drug Interactions

• Omesoft can be safely used with warfarin without causing hemorrhagic complications. However, the prothrombin time should be monitored when starting or discontinuing Omesoft alongside warfarin.

✔️ Pregnancy and Lactation

• In some studies, Omega-3 acids were associated with prolonged bleeding time, but these increases remained within normal limits and did not cause significant bleeding episodes.
• Patients with signs of liver damage should have their ALT and AST levels monitored, particularly when taking high doses.
• This medication is not recommended for use in children due to a lack of safety data.
• Omesoft is not indicated for type 1 hyperchylomicronemia (exogenous hypertriglyceridemia) and has limited experience in secondary endogenous hypertriglyceridemia, such as that caused by uncontrolled diabetes.
