Terbikill 250 Tablet

Terbikill 250 is an antifungal medicine used to treat fungal infections affecting the skin, nails, and scalp, including:

• Ringworm (Tinea corporis)
• Athlete's foot (Tinea pedis)
• Jock itch (Tinea cruris)
• Nail fungal infections (Onychomycosis)
• Scalp fungal infections (Tinea capitis)

• Can be taken with or without food.
• Follow your doctor's prescribed dose and duration.

Adult Dosage

Nail fungal infections:

• 250 mg once daily
• Fingernail infections: 6 weeks
• Toenail infections: 12 weeks

Skin fungal infections:

• 250 mg daily (single dose or divided doses)
• Tinea corporis and tinea cruris: 2–4 weeks
• Tinea pedis: 2–6 weeks

Pediatric Dosage (Tinea Capitis)

Children older than 4 years:

• Less than 25 kg: 125 mg daily for 6 weeks
• 25–35 kg: 187.5 mg daily for 6 weeks
• More than 35 kg: 250 mg daily for 6 weeks

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at the same time.

Common Side Effects

Topical use:

• Skin peeling
• Burning sensation
• Redness
• Itching
• Irritation at the application site

Oral use:

• Headache
• Rash
• Itching
• Nausea
• Diarrhea
• Indigestion
• Abdominal pain
• Changes in taste
• Elevated liver enzymes
• Mild visual disturbances

Serious Side Effects

Although rare, serious reactions may occur:

• Severe liver injury or liver failure
• Stevens-Johnson syndrome (severe skin reaction)
• Significant reduction in white blood cells (neutropenia)

Seek immediate medical attention if you develop severe rash, yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, or persistent fever.

Who Should Not Use It

Terbikill 250 should not be used in people with:

• Allergy to terbinafine
• Active or chronic liver disease
• Breastfeeding mothers (oral therapy)

Precautions

• Use cautiously in patients with liver or kidney disease.
• Liver function tests may be required before and during oral treatment.
• Avoid unnecessary sun exposure because skin sensitivity to sunlight may increase.
• Inform your doctor if symptoms do not improve after 4 weeks of treatment.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

• Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed and advised by a doctor.
• Oral terbinafine passes into breast milk and is generally not recommended while breastfeeding.

Drug Interactions

Terbinafine may interact with:

• Medicines metabolized by CYP2D6 enzymes
• Rifampicin (may reduce terbinafine effectiveness)
• Cimetidine (may increase terbinafine levels)
