Clobazam is used in the treatment of epilepsy/seizures and severe anxiety.

✔️ Pharmacology

Clobazam binds to GABA receptors, increasing the time the chloride ionophore is open, resulting in membrane hyperpolarization and stability.

✔️ Dosage & Administration:

General Dosage Principles:

• Keep the dose as low as possible.

Anxiety States:

• Adults and adolescents over 15 years: Initial dose of 20 mg daily, not exceeding a total daily dose of 30 mg.
• Elderly: Lower initial doses, with a maintenance dose of 10 to 15 mg daily.
• Children (3 to 15 years): Daily dose of 5 to 10 mg.

Epilepsy (Combination Therapy):
