✔️ Directions for Use:

Take as prescribed by your doctor.
Swallow the tablet whole; do not chew, crush, or break.
Can be taken with or without food, preferably at a fixed time daily.
Effervescent tablets should be dissolved in a glass of water before drinking.
Usual dose: 1 tablet once or twice daily with plenty of water.

✔️ Common side effects are minimal. Rare side effects may include:

Constipation, nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite
Allergic reactions, irregular heartbeat
Skin rash (from Vitamin D3)
Hypercalcemia in cases of overdose or pre-existing kidney disease

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

During pregnancy, daily intake should not exceed 1500 mg calcium and 600 IU vitamin D3.
Can be used under supervision if there is a deficiency.
Passes into breast milk, so monitor additional vitamin D in infants.

✔️ Interactions may occur with:

Thiazide diuretics: risk of high calcium levels
Corticosteroids: reduce calcium absorption
Tetracycline antibiotics: take at least 2 hours before or 4–6 hours after Okical-D
Bisphosphonates: take Okical-D at least 3 hours after bisphosphonate
Foods high in oxalic acid (spinach) or phytic acid (whole cereals): may reduce calcium absorption

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

Regularly monitor serum calcium and renal function, especially in elderly patients or those on cardiac glycosides or diuretics.

Be cautious if immobilized, have kidney disease, sarcoidosis, or high risk of kidney stones.

Avoid taking other calcium or vitamin D supplements without medical supervision.
