Nosomist Nasal Drops

Indications

Dry nasal membranes, such as those caused by colds and allergy drugs, are treated with sodium chloride nasal wash. It moistens dry nasal passages caused by arid climates or airplane travel, may aid in the dissolution of mucus in study noses, and helps to clean the nose after surgery. This sterile saline solution is also used to clean various bodily parts (wounds, body cavities), as well as medical equipment (e.g. bandages, catheters, drainage tubes). It's also utilized as a diluent (mixed solution) for other body-irrigating drugs (e.g. bacitracin, polymyxin).

Pharmacology

Nasal wash with sodium chloride is a non-drug, isotonic saline solution used to moisturize nasal membranes. This formulation is comfortable to use for long periods of time. Sodium Chloride 0.9 percent nasal wash moistens the inside of the nose by dissolving and softening thick or crusty mucus, making it simpler to clear mucus and breathe. The kidneys eliminate the majority of excess sodium, with tiny quantities lost in feces and sweat.

Dosage & Administration

Nasal Congestion: Before feedings, place 1-2 drops of Sodium Chloride nasal wash in each nostril to help reduce congestion and allow for more effective suckling.

Allow the Sodium Chloride nasal wash to come to room temperature before using it to remove ear wax. It is critical to gently place the drops in the ear. Fill the ear canal with the drops and lie down on one side for a few minutes before standing up. From the age of six months onwards. For 3 to 5 days, put 3 to 4 drops into the afflicted ear(s) 3 to 4 times a day.

How to use the Nasal Spray-

Shake the bottle gently and remove the dust cover.

Hold the spray with your forefinger and middle finger on either side of the nozzle and your thumb underneath the bottle. Press down until a fine spray appears. If using for the first time or if you have not used it for a week or more, press the nasal applicator several times until a fine moist comes out from the container.

Gently blow the nose to clear the nostrils.

Close one nostril and carefully insert the nasal applicator into the open nostril. Tilt your head forward slightly and keep the spray upright. Breathe in through your nose and while breathing in, press the white-collar of nasal applicator firmly down once to release a spray.

Breathe out through your mouth.

Repeat the above steps in the same/ other nostril for consecutive doses.

Cleaning: The nasal spray should be cleaned at least once a week. The procedures are as follows-

Remove the dust cover.

Gently pull off the nasal applicator.

Wash the applicator and dust cover in warm water.

Shake off the excess water and leave to dry in a normal place. Avoid to apply additional heat.

Gently push the applicator back on the top of the bottle and re-fix the dust cover.

Interactions

Lithium concentrations in the blood may be affected.

Contraindications

Do not give this medication to anybody else. It is possible that doing so will raise the risk of infection.

Side-Effects

There should be no negative side effects. In some situations, however, stinging, sneezing, increased nasal discharge, or a salty taste may occur.

Pregnancy

Before taking this drug, tell your doctor if you are pregnant. This drug does not appear to transfer into breast milk. Before you start breastfeeding, talk to your doctor.

Precautions

Tell your doctor about any allergies you have, as well as any heart problems (e.g., congestive heart failure), lung difficulties (pulmonary edema), renal problems, low potassium (hypokalemia), excess sodium (hypernatremia), and low potassium (hypokalemia).

Storage Conditions

Keep out of children's reach. Store away from light and moisture at room temperature (between 15°C and 30°C).
