Indications of Inflavis Eye Drop

Inflavis Eye Drop is used to treat steroid-responsive inflammatory conditions of the conjunctiva, cornea, and anterior segment of the eye, including anterior uveitis, iritis, cyclitis, allergic and vernal conjunctivitis, herpes zoster keratitis, superficial punctate keratitis, and non-specific superficial keratitis.

Also suggested for the treatment of corneal damage caused by chemical, radiation, or thermal burns, as well as foreign body penetration. It is recommended for usage after surgery to minimize inflammatory responses and decrease graft reactivity.

Ear: Used to treat steroid-responsive inflammatory diseases of the external auditory meatus such as allergic otitis externa and some purulent and non-purulent infective otitis externa.

Pharmacology of Inflavis Eye Drop

Dexamethasone is a synthetic glucocorticoid that reduces inflammation by blocking leukocyte migration and reversing enhanced capillary permeability. It inhibits normal immunological response.

Inflavis Eye Drop Dosage & Administration

Eye:

As 0.1% drop: The frequency of instillation of drops and the duration of treatment will vary depending upon the severity of the underlying condition and the response to treatment. Severe inflammations require one to two drops instilled into the eye every thirty to sixty minutes until a satisfactory response occurs. Subconjunctival or systemic steroid therapy should be considered if there is no response. When a favorable response has been observed reduce the dosage to one drop every four hours.

As 0.05% ointment: Apply 0.5-1 inch ribbon of ointment into the conjunctival sac(s) up to 4 times daily. Reduce to once-daily dosing once the condition has improved.

Ear: Instill two or three drops to the ear at two or three-hour intervals. The frequency of dosage and duration of the treatment may vary with the type of lesion and severity.

Interaction

There are none that are related to the issue at hand.

Contraindications

Epithelial herpes simplex keratitis (dendritic keratitis), acute vaccinia and varicella infections, and a variety of other viral illnesses of the cornea and conjunctiva Infection of the eye with mycobacterium, Fungal infections of the ocular or auricular tissues, drum membrane perforation Hypersensitivity to any of the product's ingredients.

Side Effects

Glaucoma with optic nerve damage, visual acuity, and field abnormalities, posterior subcapsular cataract development, secondary ocular infection with pathogens such as herpes simplex, and globe perforation Stinging and burning may occur in rare cases.

Pregnancy & Lactation

C is the pregnancy category. There have been no appropriate or well-controlled trials in pregnant women. This medication should only be taken during pregnancy if the possible benefit outweighs the potential danger to the fetus.

When administering Dexamethasone ophthalmic solution to a breastfeeding mother, use extreme caution.

Precautions & Warnings

After extended corticosteroid treatment, the potential of persistent fungal infections of the cornea should be recognized. Bacterial keratitis has been linked to the use of multiple dosage containers of topical ophthalmic medications. These containers had been polluted accidentally by patients, the majority of whom had a concomitant corneal illness or a disturbance of the ocular epithelial surface.

Storage Conditions

Store below 30° C in a cold, dry, and light-protected location. Keep out of children's reach. Touching the dropper tip to a surface may contaminate the fluid. After 30 days from the date of initial opening, do not use.
