Indications of Cipro-A 500 Tablet
Ciprofloxacin is used to treat a variety of infections, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, pelvic inflammatory diseases, infectious diarrhea (such as Shigella dysenteriae and Vibrio cholera), typhoid fever, prostatitis, intra-abdominal infections, gonorrhea, and infections of the bones and joints.
Pharmacology of Cipro-A 500 Tablet
The fluoroquinolone antibiotic ciprofloxacin is produced synthetically. With regard to both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, it demonstrates the bactericidal effect. It prevents the synthesis of bacterial DNA by interacting with the DNA supercoiling enzymes DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV.

Interaction of Cipro-A 500 Tablet
Ciprofloxacin shouldn't be taken at the same time as antacids that contain magnesium or aluminum, sucralfate, or any medications that contain calcium, iron, or zinc. Ciprofloxacin can be taken before or after these products, but not within two hours of them. Because the absorption of Ciprofloxacin may be significantly reduced when consumed with milk or other dairy products, it should not be taken with them. However, dietary calcium consumed with a meal has no impact on how well Ciprofloxacin is absorbed.
Contraindications
Patients who have a known hypersensitivity to Ciprofloxacin or other quinolones should avoid it.
Side Effects of Cipro-A 500 Tablet
Pregnancy & Lactation
In pregnant women, there are no sufficient and well-controlled trials. Only if the possible benefit outweighs the danger to the fetus and mother should Ciprofloxacin be used during pregnancy. Human milk contains ciprofloxacin, which is excreted. Ciprofloxacin should not be taken during lactation due to the risk of articular injury.
Precautions & Warnings
Patients using Ciprofloxacin should be encouraged to drink plenty of water. In individuals with suspected or established CNS problems, such as epilepsy, or other variables that predispose to seizures and convulsions, it should be administered with caution. Hypokalemia should be avoided in patients with known QT prolongation.
Storage Conditions
Keep the temperature below 30°C and keep it away from light and moisture. Keep out of children's reach.
