Pharmacology

Bromazepam is a powerful psychotropic medication. At lower doses, it selectively reduces stress and anxiety. At higher doses, it has sedative and muscle-relaxant properties. Bromazepam binds to the GABA-A receptor, changing its shape and amplifying its inhibitory effects. Another neurotransmitter activity is unaffected.

Dosage & Administration of Tenil 3 Tablet

• Outpatient therapy typically requires 1.5-3 mg up to three times per day. Outpatient treatment should begin with low doses and gradually increase to the optimum level.
• In severe cases, especially in the hospital, 6-12 mg twice daily. The total duration of treatment should not exceed 8-12 weeks. Extension beyond the maximum treatment period may be necessary in some cases; if so, it should be accompanied by a re-evaluation of the patient's status with special expertise.
• Elderly and debilitated patients: Lower doses are required for elderly patients and those with impaired hepatic functions.
• Children: Bromazepam is usually not prescribed for children, but if the doctor believes it is necessary, the dose should be adjusted to their low body weight (about 0.1-0.3 mg/kg body weight).
