Indications of Deslor 5mg Tablet
Deslor is a member of the class of drugs known as antihistamines. Various allergic conditions are treated with it. It eases signs like rashes, swelling, and itching. Pharmacology of Deslor 5mg Tablet
Deslor 5mg Tablet is a tricyclic, long-acting, non-sedating, selective peripheral histamine H1-receptor antagonist that prevents basophils and mast cells from secreting proinflammatory mediators.
Dosage & Administration
Tablet:
Adults and children 12 years of age and over: 1 tablet daily
Interaction
Desloratadine's plasma concentration was raised when Erythromycin, Ketoconazole, Azithromycin, Fluoxetine, and Cimetidine were administered simultaneously. However, there were no clinically significant modifications to the Deslor 5mg Tablet safety profile.
Contraindications
Deslor 5mg Tablet is contraindicated in patients having hypersensitivity to this medication or to any of its ingredients or Loratadine.
Side Effects
Deslor 5mg Tablet is generally well tolerated. However, dry mouth, fatigue, somnolence, and myalgia are commonly reported side effects. Less common side effects may include dizziness, headache, and nausea. Rarely rash, pruritus, and urticaria may occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy: There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Because animal reproduction studies are not always predictive of human response, Desloratadine should be used in pregnancy only if clearly needed.
Lactation: Deslor 5mg Tablet passes into breast milk. Therefore, a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or to discontinue Desloratadine, taking into account the importance of the drug to the mother.
