Type II diabetes is a chronic condition characterized by elevated blood glucose levels. It arises due to insufficient insulin production (a hormone needed for glucose metabolism) or poor cell sensitivity to insulin.
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking Glucodip-M XR 500 Tablet as it may increase the risk of unwanted side effects.
Glucodip-M XR 500 Tablet is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Therefore, inform your doctor before taking Glucodip-M XR 500 Tablet if you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or planning to have a baby.

Sitagliptin + Metformin is a combination of two antidiabetic medicines: Sitagliptin and Metformin. They help your pancreas produce more insulin, facilitate the effective use of insulin by the body, and reduce the excess sugar that your liver makes. Together, they provide better control of blood sugar.
Common side effects include diarrhea, upper respiratory tract infection, and headache. Hypoglycemia, especially when combined with sulfonylurea or insulin, can occur.
Glucodip-M XR 500 Tablet is used to control high blood sugar in patients having type 2 diabetes mellitus, along with a healthy diet and regular exercise.
Glucodip-M XR 500 Tablet combines two antihyperglycemic medications, Metformin HCl (a biguanide) and Sitagliptin (a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor), to enhance glycemic control in type 2 diabetes. Sitagliptin inhibits the inactivation of incretin hormones, such as GLP-1 and GIP, which rise in response to meals, while Metformin helps reduce hepatic glucose production.
Dosage should be individualized, not exceeding 100 mg sitagliptin and 2000 mg metformin daily. Generally, take it twice daily with meals to minimize GI side effects. The starting dose depends on the patient's current regimen.
Use caution with cationic drugs, phenprocoumon (monitor INR), and levothyroxine (monitor blood glucose). Adjust metformin dosage if necessary when starting or stopping thyroid hormone therapy.
Contraindicated in renal disease, metabolic acidosis, known allergy to the tablet or sitagliptin, and during radiologic examinations with iodinated contrast materials.
Category B in pregnancy; use only if necessary. Unknown if sitagliptin is excreted in human milk.
Risk of lactic acidosis, especially in certain conditions. Regularly check TSH levels in patients with hypothyroidism. Monitor patients on long-term metformin therapy.
Store below 30°C, protect from light and moisture and keep out of children's reach.
