Perindopril lowers blood pressure by inhibiting the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), responsible for producing angiotensin II â a substance that tightens blood vessels. By blocking ACE, perindopril decreases angiotensin II levels, promoting vasodilation (widening of blood vessels), which leads to reduced blood pressure and improved blood flow.

Increase to 8 mg once daily, depending on kidney function and tolerance
Elderly patients: Start with 2 mg daily for one week, then 4 mg the next week before escalating to 8 mg
Initiate under medical supervision with 2 mg once daily
If required, the dose may be increased to 4 mg once daily
Start with a low dose (â¤4 mg/day)
Increase dosage gradually as needed
Use caution with doses above 8 mg, as clinical data is limited
