✔️ Uses of Mitaprex 15
- Manage depression in adults
✔️ Dosage & Administration of Mitaprex 15
- Adults:
- Initial dose: 15 mg/day, preferably in the evening or before sleep.
- Effective range: 15-45 mg/day. Dose adjustments should be made at intervals of 1-2 weeks.
- Children: Not recommended for use.
- Missed Dose:
- Take as soon as remembered, unless it’s close to the next scheduled dose.
- Do not double doses.
✔️ Drug Interactions
- Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs): Contraindicated within 14 days of MAOI use.
- Other Serotonergic Drugs: Tryptophan, SSRIs, venlafaxine, lithium, tramadol, triptans, and St. John's wort may increase the risk of serotonin syndrome.
- Carbamazepine, Phenytoin, Cimetidine: May alter metabolism of Mirtazapine.
- Alcohol & Diazepam: Should be avoided due to additive sedative effects.

- Hypersensitivity to Mirtazapine or any excipients.

- Category C: Use only if the potential benefit justifies the risk to the fetus.
- Not recommended during breastfeeding without consulting a physician.

- Monitor for anxiety, agitation, suicidal ideation, and behavioral changes, especially at the start of treatment or during dose adjustments.
- Risk of agranulocytosis; watch for symptoms like fever or sore throat.
- Impaired motor skills and judgment due to sedative effects; caution patients about driving or operating machinery.
- Liver function: Clinically significant ALT elevations may occur.
