Norsol Nasal Drop works by narrowing the blood vessels in the nasal area, which can help to reduce swelling and congestion. Norsol Nasal Drop is typically used as a nasal spray or drop and may provide relief for several hours. 

Side Effects of Norsol Nasal Drop:

• No side effects are expected to occur.

However stinging, sneezing, increased nasal discharge, or salty taste may occur in some cases.

How to use Norsol Nasal Drop:

Use Norsol Nasal Drop in the nose as directed. Follow all directions on the product package, or use as directed by your doctor. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Indications of Norsol Nasal Drop:

Sodium chloride-based nasal washes are highly recommended for individuals experiencing dry nasal membranes, which can result from the use of cold and allergy medications. It helps to moisturize the nasal passages, especially in dry environments or during air travel, facilitates the disintegration of stubborn mucus, and aids in clearing the nose after surgery. This sterile saline solution is not only used to cleanse various body cavities and wounds but also to disinfect medical equipment such as bandages, catheters, and drainage tubes. Moreover, it serves as a diluent or mixing solution for other drugs used to irrigate the body, such as bacitracin and polymyxin.

Pharmacology of Norsol Nasal Drop:

The use of sodium chloride nasal wash, which is an isotonic saline solution that does not contain any drugs, helps in moisturizing nasal membranes. This formulation is comfortable for prolonged and continuous use.

Sodium chloride 0.9% nasal wash functions by softening and liquefying thick or crusty mucus, which helps to moisten the mucus in the nose. As a result, it becomes easier to remove the mucus and breathing improves. Although small amounts of additional sodium are lost through sweat and feces, the majority is excreted by the kidneys.

Dosage of Norsol Nasal Drop:

• For infants experiencing nasal congestion, Norsol Nasal Drop is recommended to administer 1-2 drops of sodium chloride nasal wash in each nostril before feedings.
• This can help alleviate congestion and improve the infant's ability to suck.
• To remove ear wax using sodium chloride nasal wash, it is essential to allow the solution to warm to room temperature first.
• Norsol Nasal drops should be carefully inserted into the ear canal. While lying on one side, fill the affected ear or ears with 3 to 4 drops of the solution and wait for a few minutes before standing up.
• This process should be repeated 3 to 4 times per day for 3 to 5 days, starting at 6 months of age.

Administration of Norsol Nasal Drop:

How to use the Nasal Spray- 

• Shake the bottle gently and remove the dust cover.
• Hold the spray with your forefinger and middle finger on either side of the nozzle and your thumb underneath the bottle. Press down until a fine spray appears. If using it for the first time or if you have not used it for a week or more, press the nasal applicator several times until fine moisture comes out from the container.
• Gently blow the nose to clear the nostrils.
• Close one nostril and carefully insert the nasal applicator into the open nostril. Tilt your head forward slightly and keep the spray upright. Breathe in through your nose and while breathing in, press the white collar of the nasal applicator firmly down once to release a spray.
• Breathe out through your mouth.
• Repeat the above steps in the same/another nostril for consecutive doses.

Cleaning: 

The nasal spray should be cleaned at least once a week. The procedures are as follows- 

• Remove the dust cover.
• Gently pull off the nasal applicator.
• Wash the applicator and dust cover in warm water.
• Shake off the excess water and leave it to dry in a normal place. Avoid applying additional heat.
• Gently push the applicator back on the top of the bottle and re-fix the dust cover.

Contraindications of Norsol Nasal Drop:

Do not share this medication with others. Doing so may increase the risk of infection.

Pregnancy & Lactation:

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using this medication. It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

Precautions & Warnings of Norsol Nasal Drop:

Tell your doctor about your medical history, especially of heart problems (e.g., congestive heart failure), lung problems (pulmonary edema), kidney problems, low levels of potassium (hypokalemia), high levels of sodium (hypernatremia), and any allergies.

Storage Conditions of Norsol Nasal Drop:

Keep out of the reach of children. Store at room temperature (between 15°C to 30°C), away from light and moisture.
