• Common: Elevated blood pressure, dry mouth, nasal inflammation, urinary tract infection, headache, constipation, dizziness.
• Less common: Cardiac disorders, eye disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, rhinitis, renal and urinary disorders, reproductive system disorders, skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders.

Indications of Uroben XR 25mg Tablet

Uroben XR 25mg Tablet is used to treat OAB (overactive bladder) with symptoms of urge urinary incontinence, urgency, and urinary frequency

Pharmacology

• Mirabegron, the active ingredient, acts as a beta-3 adrenoceptor agonist.
• It increases cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cyclic AMP) levels, relaxing detrusor smooth muscles, and increasing bladder capacity.

Dosage & Administration of Uroben XR 25mg Tablet

Adult Dose:

• Initial dose: 25 mg orally once daily. May increase to 50 mg daily based on individual response and tolerance.

Renal Dose:

• Severe renal impairment: Max 25 mg/day.
• End-stage renal disease: Not recommended.

Overdose Effects:

• Symptoms may include palpitations and increased pulse rate.
• Treatment is symptomatic and supportive.

Administration:

• May be taken with or without food. Swallow whole. Do not chew or divide.

Interaction

• Enzyme inhibitors: Interaction observed with CYP3A/P-gp inhibitors. Adjust the dose if co-administered with strong inhibitors.
• Enzyme inducers: Substances inducing CYP3A/P-gp may decrease Uroben XR concentrations.
• CYP2D6 substrates: Moderate inhibition of CYP2D6 observed; caution advised with drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
• Transporters: Uroben XR weakly inhibits P-gp, may affect digoxin levels.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to mirabegron or excipients.
• Severe uncontrolled hypertension.

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Not recommended during pregnancy due to limited data.
• Avoid breastfeeding due to potential excretion in breast milk.

Precautions & Warnings

• Monitor blood pressure, especially in hypertensive patients.
• Use caution in patients with QT prolongation, bladder outlet obstruction, or taking antimuscarinic medications for OAB.
• Not recommended for women of childbearing potential not to use contraception.
