How to use Bet-A Cream 0.01%

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless your hands are the affected area.

Bet-A Cream 0.01% is an antifungal medication that treats skin infections. It works by killing the fungi on the skin by destroying their cell membrane.

What if you forget to take Bet-A Cream 0.01%?

If you miss a dose of Bet-A Cream 0.01%, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose

• Inform your doctor if the infection has not cleared up after four weeks of treatment.

Indications of Bet-A Cream 0.01%

Betamethasone Valerate cream or ointment is indicated for the treatment of-

• Eczema in children and adults including atopic
• Infantile and discoid eczema
• Prurigo nodularis
• Psoriasis (excluding widespread plaque psoriasis)
• Neurodermatitis including lichen simplex and lichen planus
• Seborrheic dermatitis
• Contact sensitivity reaction
• Discoid lupus erythematosus may be used as an adjunct to systemic steroid therapy in generalized erythroderma.

Pharmacology

A synthetic glucocorticoid adrenal corticosteroid is betamethasone valerate BP. It functions somewhat like a mineral corticosteroid and is an analog of prednisolone. Due to its anti-inflammatory, anti-pruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties, it is highly effective and well-suited for dermatological usage. It is absorbed via the skin, and percutaneous absorption is accelerated by skin inflammation and/or other disease processes. Occlusive dressings significantly improve percutaneous absorption.

Dosage & Administrations of Bet-A Cream 0.01%

Apply sparingly to the affected area two or three times daily until improvement occurs, then twice daily or less. The usual maximum duration of therapy is three weeks.

Interactions

Betamethasone Cream/Ointment has been found to have no major medication interactions.

Contraindications

Betamethasone Valerate cream or ointment is contraindicated in the following conditions :

• Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients in the preparation.
• Rosaceae & acne vulgaris.
• Perioral dermatitis, perianal & genital pruritis.
• Viral infections of the skin, e.g. herpes simplex & chicken pox.
• Primary infected skin lesions are caused by fungi or bacteria.
• Dermatoses in children under one year of age.

Precautions & Warnings

• Bet-A 15 is often tolerated well, however, treatment should be stopped if any symptoms of touchiness appear. 
• Wherever possible, avoid using long-lasting topical medications, especially in youngsters because adrenal concealment can occur unhindered. 
• Treatment of broad ranges may result in sufficient systemic retention, which might result in hypercortisolism side effects. 
• This effect is more probable if occlusive dressings are used or if the course of therapy is prolonged. 
• After a delayed course of therapy, the face or other areas of the body may exhibit atrophic alterations. 
• Care must be taken to ensure that the arrangement does not enter the eye if it is attached to the eyelids since glaucoma might ensue. 
• Any spread of the disease requires withdrawal of topical corticosteroid therapy.
• Do not use bandages or dressing on the face while using Bet-A Cream 0.01% for children.

Storage of Bet-A Cream 0.01%

Keep the temperature below 30°C and away from light and moisture. Keep out of children's reach.
