Indications of Cilosta

Leg pain caused by insufficient blood flow is treated with Cilosta 100. (intermittent claudication). Additionally, it aids in lessening the leg cramps, numbness, or paralysis that these individuals experience when walking. Cilosta 100 should be taken as prescribed by a doctor on a regular basis.

Pharmacology

A quinolinone derivative called Cilostazol is created from Cilostazol. A decrease in cAMP breakdown and inhibition of cellular phosphodiesterase III (PDE III) causes a rise in cAMP in platelets and blood vessels, which prevents platelet aggregation and dilates blood vessels.

Dosage & Administration

• Cilostazol should be administered in doses of 100 mg twice daily, at least two hours before or after breakfast and dinner.
• A dose of 50 mg bid should be investigated when coadministering Fluconazole, Ketoconazole, Itraconazole, Erythromycin, Clarithromycin, Fluvoxamine, Fluoxetine, Nefazodone, Sertraline, and Diltiazem.

Interaction of Cilosta

The pharmacokinetics of cilostazol may be influenced by co-administration with medications that inhibit CYP3A4 (erythromycin, other macrolides, diltiazem) or CYP2C19 (omeprazole).

Contraindications

Cilostazol is not recommended for people who have any type of congestive heart failure. Cilostazol should not be given to anyone who has a known or suspected hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.

Pregnancy & Lactation

In pregnant women, there are no sufficient and well-controlled trials. Cilostazol has been reported to pass through the milk of experimental animals. Because of the potential risk to nursing infants, it is best to either stop nursing or stop taking Cilostazol.

Precautions & Warnings

In individuals with any degree of heart failure, Cilostazol should be administered with caution. There is no information on the efficacy or safety of taking Cilostazol and Clopidogrel at the same time.
