Aldonist 25mg Tablet 1 Strip

✔️ Dosage & Administration: Aldonist 25

• Congestive Heart Failure Post-Myocardial Infarction: Start with 25 mg once daily and gradually increase to 50 mg once daily within four weeks, based on patient tolerance. It can be taken with or without food.
• Hypertension: Can be used alone or with other antihypertensives. The initial dose is 50 mg once daily, which may be increased to 50 mg twice daily if blood pressure response is inadequate. Higher doses are not recommended due to a higher risk of hyperkalemia.
• Pediatric Use: Safety and efficacy have not been established in children.
• Geriatric Use: No significant differences in safety or effectiveness have been observed in elderly patients.

✔️ Side Effects: Aldonist 25

Common side effects include headache, dizziness, diarrhea, stomach pain, nausea, cough, or flu-like symptoms. Serious allergic reactions may present as a rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing.

✔️ Drug Interactions:

• Increased risk of hyperkalemia when taken with ACE inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers, ciclosporin, tacrolimus, or trimethoprim.
• Reduced antihypertensive effects with NSAIDs, glucocorticoids, or tetracosactide.
• Enhanced hypotensive effects when combined with α1-blockers (e.g., alfuzosin, prazosin), TCAs, amifostine, baclofen, or neuroleptics.
• Increased plasma levels when used with mild to moderate CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., fluconazole, erythromycin, saquinavir, amiodarone, diltiazem, verapamil).

✔️ Eplerenone should not be used in patients with:

• Hyperkalemia
• Severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance <30 mL/min)
• Severe hepatic impairment
• Concurrent use of potent CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., Ketoconazole, Itraconazole, Nefazodone, Troleandomycin, Clarithromycin, Ritonavir, Nelfinavir) or other potassium-sparing diuretics

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation:

• No well-controlled studies exist on pregnant women. Use only if the benefits outweigh the potential risks to the fetus.
• It is unknown whether Eplerenone is excreted in breast milk; therefore, a decision should be made to either discontinue breastfeeding or discontinue the drug based on its importance to the mother.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings:

Use Aldonist with caution in patients with hyperkalemia, severe kidney disease, and diabetic patients with congestive heart failure after a myocardial infarction, particularly those with proteinuria.

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
